Both players would charge a fee of at least £ 45 million, and Arsenal must downsize their squad before starting to bring in more reinforcements. Atlético de Madrid are interested in Lucas Torreira and have agreed personal terms with the midfielder, but want to sell Héctor Herrera before trying to reach a deal with Arsenal.
Meanwhile, the absences of Mesut Ozil and Matteo Guendouzi remain unsolved issues, with Arsenal’s Carabao Cup victory over Leicester. Arteta admitted that it is “very difficult” to see a situation where German playmakers rejoin the first team squad. Defender Calum Chambers is subject to West Ham loan interest. Here are the latest news, rumors and updates on the Emirates:
WILL COUTINHO RETURN TO THE PREMIER LEAGUE?
the Daily express report that Arsenal are still thinking about making an offer to bring Philippe Coutinho back to the Premier League.
They say the Gunners were expected to offer Barcelona a loan deal for the former Liverpool star after he returned to the Camp Nou following a one-season loan at Bayern Munich last season.
There was no offer, but the Quick they say Arsenal are considering one before the transfer window closes in October.
Barca’s new boss Ronald Koeman insists he wants to get the best out of Coutinho, however, given that Memphis Depay is a target for the Spanish giants, Barça bosses could decide to let Coutinho leave to make way.
Coutinho still has three years to execute his current contract, and Barcelona are unwilling to sell him on a permanent contract for less than £ 64 million, so Arsenal are preparing a loan.
Any permanent move from Coutinho would be more viable next summer when the Gunners can finally get Mesut Ozil off their books.

AOUAR READY FOR PREMIER LEAGUE
Houseem Aouar is set to join the Premier League with Arsenal as the favorites to sign him from Lyon.
The Gunners have been chasing Aouar for most of the summer, but they have to raise the necessary funds to meet their starting price of € 60 million.
Something that Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano says they can only do if they sell some players.
Speaking on the Here We Go podcast, Romano said:
“Obviously the club that is working to sign Aouar is Arsenal,
“We have to say that Arsenal is convinced that if they could sell some players, and they have many in [Sead] Kolasinac, Socrates [Papastathopoulos] and [Lucas] Torreira, many players to sell or give up in the last two weeks, can try again for Aouar.
“Lyon is asking for € 60 million, so it is complicated, but the player would be ready to join the Premier League, he would be ready to join Arsenal.”
“The player would like to come to the Premier League and join Arsenal but for now there are no negotiations.
“In July they offered Guendouzi as part of the deal and did not reach an agreement.
“Now it’s up to Arsenal if they sell players, I’m convinced [they will bid again]. “
