Arsenal players’ ratings as a quartet impress in front of 2,000 fans at Emirates

The 2,000 Arsenal fans who made it to the Emirates could go home happy when Arsenal swept Rapid Vienna 4-1 in the Europa League on Thursday night.

With the crowd back on the ground for the first time since March, a fine shot from Alexandre Lacazette and a header from Pablo Mari put the Gunners in control against their Austrian opponents.

Eddie Nketiah nodded on a third goal on the second down just before half-time, and after Koya Kitagawa cut one for the visitors, substitute Emile Smith Rowe added Arsenal’s fourth.

This is how the Arsenal players rated a memorable night.

Runar Alex Runarsson: 6

It seemed a bit silly when Arsenal conceded, which is not ideal as it is their job to prevent that from happening.

It could be worse though, do you see Joe Hart tonight?

Cedric Soares: 7

Very Arsenal player for this occasion.

Cedric was firm for the Gunners

Shkodran Mustafi: 6

Hahaha, did you see when they let him be the captain for about five minutes?

To bless.

Pablo Mari: 8

He came back from injury, scored a beautiful header, looked handsome, and became captain when Arteta decided he had fun with Mustafi.

A good night for him, overall.

Sead Kolasinac: 7

Did you see that double clearance of the line just before Vienna’s goal? The boy deserves an Emirati statue for that.

Take him out with Adams and Bergkamp and that strange Henry.

Elneny played just over an hour

Mohamed Elneny: 7

He ran a bit and then got off on time, no doubt needing to lower his head before the weekend.

It’s strange how suddenly it’s one of the important ones.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles: 8

It’s cool isn’t it? Play in any position you want. Arsenal James Milner.

He seemed to say “welcome back” to Smith Rowe when he also set his goal for him, which is probably what Milner would have said in such a situation.

There could be a direct correlation between the positions you can play in and how healthy you are.

Reiss Nelson: 7

Good, although at times he seemed to be too eager to force the subject, probably because he will be desperate to get in on the weekend.

Probably Thursday night again next week.

Nicolas Pepe : 6

Still on the mischievous stride of the Europa League, but he seemed to respond positively to the insistence of 2,000 Arsenal fans, which at least counteracts the fact that millions of them turn him down online.

There’s a good player there if you can find him, which given his pass is a little 50/50 to be honest.

Lacazette grabbed Arsenal’s first game

Alexandre Lacazette: 8

Wasn’t it nice when he whipped him in goal and you heard a proper cheer from the fans who are actually there and not from the strange canned digital batch that always seems to be everywhere?

It’s been 84 years …

Eddie Nketiah: 8

Absolutely addicted to scoring goals, so much so that you will be disappointed that you only did it once.

You may have to go down to Goals on your way home to scratch that itch. They are open?

Subs:

Dani Ceballos (replaces Elneny, 62): 7

Lovely step according to.

Willian (replaces Nelson, 62) : 6

You can’t score, can you? Later he will drop Goals with Nketiah.

Emile Smith Rowe (replacing Lacazette, 62): 7

He went in and kicked him into goal, which was nice.

He was probably off the game, but no one seemed to care at the moment.

Calum Chambers (instead of Mustafi, 70) : n / A

Awww.

Folarin Balogun (replacing Nketiah, 81): n / a

Nketiah would not have liked me to score.
