Arsenal injury news: the latest on Saka and Willian

Arsenal will have to wait a bit longer to find out the extent of the injuries suffered by Bukayo Saka and Willian.

The two took hits and were replaced during the Gunners’ 0-0 draw at Leeds on Sunday night.

Willian was withdrawn at half-time, and coach Mikel Arteta revealed that it was not a tactical decision.

“He was feeling somewhat muscular and we had to get him out,” he said.

Saka, on the other hand, was forced to retire in the final stages of the match after a stud appeared to connect with his knee, moments after missing a glorious opportunity that could have won the Gunners the match.

Arteta also gave an update on Saka’s injury, saying;

“I was in pain,” said the coach.

“We will have to evaluate with the medical staff how bad he is, but it seemed like a pretty bad challenge and he was suffering, so we decided to take him out immediately.”

The Gunners were forced to settle for a goalless draw and failed to score in a third straight game.
