A statement from Arsenal read: ‘We can confirm that a member of our Hale End Academy staff has tested positive for Covid-19.

‘The positive test result came in at 5pm today and the staff member immediately left the site to isolate himself.

“As a consequence, another six staff members are now self-isolated and we have started tracking and tracing the entire site.

‘We are working through our CCTV and on-site attendance records to continue the track and trace process. Our Hale End Academy will now be closed on Thursday October 8th for a deep cleaning.
