Lacazette is Arsenal’s top scorer in all competitions this season with six goals
A rejuvenated Arsenal recorded a major win over Chelsea to end their seven-match winless streak in the Premier League and relieve pressure on manager Mikel Arteta.
Two first-half goals set the stage for the Gunners’ first top flight win since Nov. 1.
Alexandre Lacazette sent goalkeeper Edouard Mendy down the wrong path from the penalty spot and Granit Xhaka took a superb free kick 10 minutes later to put Arteta’s team in control.
A center from Bukayo Saka then fell into the top corner early in the second half to put the game past the visitors.
Tammy Abraham took advantage from close range to make the final five minutes nervous for the hosts and Jorginho saw her weak penalty saved by Bernd Leno.
But it was a mediocre performance from Frank Lampard’s side, who missed the chance to go second.
It was a well-deserved victory for Arsenal, who move up to 14th place and hope that any talk of a relegation battle has been left behind.
