The vice president of the Parliament’s Defense and Interior Committee, Collins Owusu Amankwah, has called for the arrest of the presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama.

According to him, Mr. Mahama should be held responsible for allegedly inciting his party supporters to demonstrate and cause chaos across the country.

Amankwah noted that the former president made several public pronouncements to instigate supporters of his party.

“He [Mahama] he should be arrested for instigating the party’s foot soldiers to carry out acts of violence through demonstrations across the country after losing the elections.

“If it is seen that he is instigating party supporters to perpetrate violence by burning tires and throwing stones, then he [Mahama] as a leader he must be held responsible. Therefore, he must be arrested to warn his followers that enough is enough, ”he said.

The vice president, who is also chairman of the Parliament’s Guarantee Committee, also called on the National Peace Council and other religious organizations to call Mr. Mahama to order and use established procedures to seek redress.

“All because the elections did not go in his favor, so Ghana should burn or if the people die, he doesn’t care, the National Peace Council, religious organizations and moral society should call on former President Mahama to order Enough is enough, ”said Amankwah, who is the Manhyia North MP.
