Swansea City manager Steve Cooper has praised Ghana international Andre Ayew for his performance after the team’s three points against Wycombe Wanderers.
Ayew recorded his first goal of the season as Swansea clinched a 2-0 win on Saturday afternoon.
Cooper, in addition to Ayew, also paid special attention to Jamal Lowe and Wolves loan officer Morgan Gibbs-White, who performed outstanding performances in the attack.
“I’ve said before that keeping a clean sheet in the Championship is no small feat, so to be able to keep three in a row is excellent,” said the head coach after the game.
“The challenge now is trying to keep him in the next game.
“I knew the three-in-a-row stat, since Joe Rodon had mentioned it to me, and it’s good to have.
“But we don’t want to look back, we have to look forward.
“But we’re defending well as a team, and let’s not underestimate the importance of the work and execution of Jamal (Lowe), Andre (Ayew) and Morgan (Gibbs-White) at the top of the court, putting pressure on defenders and forcing them to go long.
“It helps the bottom line, the midfield is competing well and the guys in the back are defending for their lives.
“Today we play well with and without the ball.”
