CID Says Ammunition Seized by Customs Turned Out to Be Gas GunsCID Says Ammunition Seized by Customs Turned Out to Be Gas Guns

The director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) COP Ken Yeboah has revealed that the ammunition that was seized by the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) turned out to be gas pistols.

This was after a careful examination of the weapons, he said.

The GRA Customs Division seized the shipment on Friday, October 9, and said it contained pistols that had been illegally imported from Turkey.

The ammunition was concealed in the shipment of personal effects. They belong to one Felix Wallace, who was later detained by the maritime police.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Thursday, November 5, COP Ken Yeboah said: “The investigation is still ongoing into the 436 pistols that were intercepted in the port of Tema. Initially, six people were arrested, but at the moment we are holding one person.

“We have examined the weapons and they are gas pistols,” he said.
