Builsa South Member of Parliament Dr. Clement Apaak has said he feels vindicated in stating that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is the most corrupt in Ghana’s history.

Dr. Apaak in January 2020 stated that corruption was fighting Ghana under the current president, whom he calls NADAA.

He said corruption was fighting Ghana because the Akufo-Addo government lacked the credibility and commitment to deal with canker.

The MP had based its argument on the highlights of the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI).

Ghana scored 41 out of 100 and ranked 80 on the list of 180 countries / territories assessed.

The deputy in his opinion in January indicated that the worst force of former president Mahama was much better than that of the PNP.

He said at the time that: “Ghana’s worst score under John Mahama’s administration was 43, see table below, while the best score in the three years of Akufo-Addo’s presidency is 41. John’s best score Mahama was 48, registered in 2014.

Dr. Apaak argued that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo rode the deceptive mantra of incorruptibility to the presidency.

He vowed to fight corruption and restore integrity in the public sector if elected in office.

But it has regrettably failed in the fight against corruption.

“The case today is that corruption thrives with impunity. After winning the elections, he has become a Clearing Agent, exempting his designees allegedly involved in acts of corruption: Australia Visa, Cash for Seat, BOST, Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company, Oslo Chancery, KelniGVG, Galamsay, MetroMass, among many others. . . Of course, when a government is populated by family relationships, what else can you expect? How can the president look at the faces of his friends and family in his government and be bold in prosecuting them for corrupt behavior?

Under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo, journalists who have investigated and denounced alleged acts of corruption committed by government appointees and party appendages have been the victims of various attacks and smear campaigns by members of their party, parliamentarians and designated persons.

Even the heads of state institutions in charge of protecting the public treasury, such as the Auditor General and the Special Prosecutor, have not been spared from the attacks. The Auditor General, in particular, has been the subject of all kinds of schemes and plots. What are their crimes? Doing your job diligently, boldly auditing, and making your findings public.

So far, neither he nor his party have called the anti-corruption crusader attackers to order. Implicitly, with his silence, he condones their actions.

Examples of the late Ahmed Hussein Suale of Tiger Eye PI, who lost his life after the display of Issue 12, in which the president, his deputy and other senior appointees were mentioned as potential beneficiaries of a settlement; the going into hiding of Manasseh Azuri after his documentary “Militia in the heart of the city” and later of Edward Adeti, who exposed a plot to influence a court case of a minister of the Presidency; the plots and schemes directed against Domelevo, the Auditor General, and the refusal of those appointed by the government to assist the Special Prosecutor with the information he has requested, underscore the reality. Under President Akufo-Addo, CORRUPTION is fighting Ghana, Ghana is NOT fighting corruption, ”read his opinion piece published in January.

In reaction to the appointment of Martin Amidu, the deputy said he feels vindicated for describing the president as a failure.

He said that the PNP has lost credibility and the president has been accused by the former SP

He asked Ghanaians to show the NPP the red card for making a mistake and failing the corruption test.

“The president who was described as incorruptible has been exposed as a corrupt leader who has failed to have his appointees punished for wrongdoing.”

He emphasized SP’s resignation and the factors he argued that led him to resign support my old argument that the NADAA government is the most corrupt in our nation’s history. “
