Emmanuel Arkon has been referred by the Obuasi Circuit Court
The alleged thief and rapist whose penis was cut off by his victim has been taken into police custody by the Obuasi Circuit Court.
23-year-old Emmanuel Ankron is said to have raped the victim at gunpoint, after forcing his way into her room to steal money and other items at the new site in Abompe, a suburb of Obuasi.
It is said that he inserted his penis into the victim’s mouth to lick it, and in the process, the victim bit his penis.
Ankron was arrested when the victim saw him at AngloGold Ashanti Hospital, where he had gone to seek medical attention.
The court chaired by Ms. Joyce Boahen did not accept her statement and she would reappear in court on November 20 of this year.
Police Chief Inspector Theresa Owusu told the court that police were still investigating the case while the suspect was also receiving treatment at the hospital.
He begged the court to send him to preventive detention for further investigations.
