One of President Akufo-Addo’s personal bodyguards has cut the lawn for the construction of an ultra-modern library in Asamankese, in the eastern Lower West Akyem township.

The Library project, which will cost GH ¢ 150,000, is expected to be completed in six months.

Jibril Issah, the bodyguard, also cut grass for a one-square-mile cemetery fence wall project around Asuokaw and Asamankese Public Cemeteries to stop serious looting incidents.

The projects are being funded entirely by the president’s bodyguard.

Jibril, a native of Asamankese, donated a hearse months ago to the Zongo Asamankese Zongo community to stop the use of passenger vehicles to transport dead bodies.

Speaking to the media, Jibril Issah said the library construction is to complement the President’s Free Upper Secondary School Policy to improve the quality of education.

On the cemetery fencing project, Jibril Issah said: “We will all end up in the cemetery one day and that if things go wrong we have to fix it. We should all help the community. I don’t do this because I have money, but I decided to give back to society. The president, Nana Addo, has thought that we unite and desist from discrimination, there should be no division between us, ”he said.

He called on Ghanaians to help the government maintain peace in the country before, during and after the December 7, 2020 elections.

Buhari Labaran Armata, contractor for the project, also said that the project will be carried out in two phases, with the first phase being the construction of the fence wall around the Muslim part of the cemetery, while the second phase will cover the part of the Christian community.

He said parking spaces will also be built.

Asamankese Zongo boss Sariki Bella praised the president’s bodyguard for his tireless contributions to community development.
