Former special prosecutor Martin Amidu is challenging the government to publish all the letters he sent to the government and its agencies, which will help refute the claim that although his office was well funded, he did not put it into operation.
Amidu said that despite stating that he resigned because President Akufo-Addo was interfering with his work in connection with the risk assessment he made in the controversial Agyapa Royalties Limited deal, the public’s attention was being diverted through propaganda and propaganda towards peripheral office accommodation issues.
Mr. Amidu, in a statement, said: “My letter, dated August 3, 2020 to H.E. The chief of staff who assigns responsibility for the inability of the Office to operate, was deliberately removed from the treasury of correspondence and half-truth notes distributed by the Presidency on the night of November 17, 2020 to the media, which the media referred me.
“The media themselves published my letter of August 3, 2020 to show that the president had suppressed it and so that the public would know, as a matter of their constitutional right, some of the half-truths deliberately published about me by the president of Ghana in flagrant breach of its presidential oath of office. “
Mr. Amidu pointed out that he wants Ghanaians to know the whole truth about the operation of his office and, therefore, demands that the government publish all the letters that he wrote about it to the various state institutions so that the public can take an informed decision on who should take responsibility for the non-operationalization of the OSP during their tenure.

THE 1992 CONSTITUTION PROHIBITS HALF TRUTHS ABOUT AGYAPA EVALUATION AND AMIDU’S WAIVER – PUBLISH ALL RELEVANT DOCUMENTS SHOWING AMIDU’S LIABILITY FOR THE NON-OPERATIONALIZATION OF THE OSP TO ALLOW THE PUBLIC TO MAKE AN INFORMED OPINION OF A CONSTITUTION IN A DECISION MARTY 1992:
The orchestrated and well-planned demonstration of political retribution against me for professionally directing and reporting on Agyapa Royalties Limited Transactions and my subsequent resignation from my position as Special Prosecutor became apparent when on November 18, 2020 I received a WhatsApp from the Office of the Special. Budget execution report of the prosecutor (2018-2020) that had been widely distributed to the media with the intention of demonstrating that the OSP had been adequately funded and that its failure to operate was entirely my fault as Special Prosecutor in that moment. The same day I received again from some members of the media via WhatsApp a treasure trove of documents that constitute correspondence between the Office of the President and the PASB, also intended to demonstrate that the Presidency had done everything possible to provide the PASB suitable accommodation which I refused. . The documents were also intended to show that even when the keys to the ten (10) story GETFund building were to be handed over to me (even though it was empty and unfurnished), I refused them without just cause. I resigned due to the president’s reactions to the Agyapa Royalty Transaction Report, but the public’s attention was being diverted through publicity and propaganda to peripheral office housing issues.
As a result of my report on the Agyapa Royalties Limited Transactions and resignation, the Presidency decidedly leaked the following letters with reference numbers SCR / DA 96/135/01 / A dated September 18, 2020 for me as Prosecutor Special at that time and signed by the Hon. . Aksosua Frema Osei-Opare, Chief of Staff; SCR / DA 96/135/01 / A of September 11, 2020 addressed to the Special Prosecutor, also signed by the Chief of Staff and with a copy to the Hon. Finance Minister; a note to the Ag Chief of Staff. Chief Director of the Presidency dated September 15, 2020 signed by Mr. HM Wood; OSP / SCR / 11/20/20 dated September 14, 2020 under my signature and addressed to the Chief Director of the Office of the President; and a six (6) page memo to the Ag Chief of Staff. Chief Director dated August 18, 2020, all with the intent to falsely and maliciously murder my character and integrity. This was knowingly done in false and indecent support of the official letter from the president who responded to me personally after he had accepted my resignation letter dated November 16, 2020 based primarily on his reaction to the Limited Royalty Transaction Report of Agyapa made professionally.
The 1992 Constitution obliges the President and Government of Ghana to practice good government based on “Freedom, Justice, Probity and Responsibility” and avoid infringing on the rights and freedoms guaranteed to the individual citizen by the Constitution. Disclosure of half-truths by the president to do something wrong to any citizen or person living under the protection of the 1992 Ghana Constitution for fulfilling their professional duty to report on a legal matter such as the Agyapa Royalty Transactions it is inconsistent and contravenes the Oath of the presidential office contained in the Second Annex of the Constitution. My letter dated August 3, 2020 to H.E. The chief of staff who assigns responsibility for the inability of the Office to operate was deliberately removed from the treasury of correspondence and half-truth memoranda distributed by the Presidency on the night of November 17, 2020 to the media. that the media sent me. The media themselves published my letter of August 3, 2020 to show that the president had suppressed it and to make known to the public, as a matter of their constitutional right, some of the half-truths deliberately published about me by the president of Ghana in flagrant violation of his presidential oath of office.
The sovereign public has the right, by virtue of its constitutional right, to know everything about the subject that the Government decided to put in the public domain through the media to assassinate the character and integrity of a fellow citizen under the Constitution just for holding a legal professional position. duty to conduct an anti-corruption assessment, such as the Agyapa Transactions. This is the only way in which the 1992 Constitution mandates that it be defended under a government of the rule of law, democracy and constitutionalism. It is in exercise of my constitutional right to defend the Constitution that I demand that the President do the right thing with me under the presidential oath by having the following letter also published in the media so that the sovereign people who constitute the public can take an informed decision regarding any wrongdoing that I may have committed that led to the non-operationalization of the OSP during my tenure as Special Prosecutor prior to my resignation due to the President’s reaction to the Agyapa Royalty Transaction Report:

The citizens of Ghana and I have the right to the publication of the above letters and any other that allows them to make an informed judgment on the justification for the publication of the half-truths contained in the treasury of documents published by the Presidency to the media. communication on November 17, 2020 to coincide with the president’s official response to me personally after accepting my resignation because of his reaction to Agyapa’s professionally conducted royalty transaction report. The President has a duty under the Constitution to uphold the integrity of the 1992 Constitution once he ordered the release of the hoard of half-truth documents from his Office to divert attention from my resignation based on his reaction to the Transactions report of Agyapa royalties. The Constitution must be defended, whatever happens. Ghana first!
