Regional Development and Reorganization Minister Dan Kwaku Botwe says President Nana Akufo-Addo will defeat former President John Mahama in the December 7 elections with more than 60% of the overall vote.

This, according to Dan Botwe, is because the Ghanaian electorate will reward the PNP for its many social intervention programs and policies.

The former PNP secretary general spoke on Adom FM’s current affairs program Burning Issues, hosted by Akua Boakyewaa Yiadom after President Akufo-Addo presented his nomination to contest the presidential election.

“The Ghanaians gave the verdict, so don’t let anyone insult the intelligence of the Ghanaians.

“They weighed the options and were not satisfied with the performance of the previous government and that was a very resounding victory, more than a million votes and then 169 seats and this year there will be more than 60% of the votes for the president and more. 180 seats. . “

“We are not saying that we are obtaining 100%, but President Akufo-Addo gets at least 60% of the votes, I am very sure of that and then the PNP gets more than 180 seats, we are working on that”, the former secretary general. emphasized.

In the 2016 general elections, the PNP candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, obtained 5,755,758 votes representing 53.72%, while the NDC candidate, John Dramani Mahama, obtained 4,771,188 votes representing the 44.53% of the total of 10,713,734 valid votes.

This was a massive victory compared to the 2012 presidential election when NDC candidate John Dramani Mahama defeated the PNP with 50.7% of the votes and Akufo-Addo of the PNP won 47.7% of the votes. votes.

But Dan Botwe, who is also an MP for the Okere constituency, is very optimistic that Ghanaians will increase the 2016 votes to more than 60% of the vote in the upcoming December 7 election.

He cited some government intervention projects, such as SHS’s free policy, Planting for Food and Jobs, 1D – 1F as the trump card to be used to keep the NPP in office.

According to him, the NPP government payments for teacher and nurse trainee assignments and massive redevelopment in the highways and education sectors deserve continuity.

“The best party to move this country forward is the PNP, and President Akufo-Addo has demonstrated this in his three and a half years in office as president,” the legislature said.

He affirmed that the next elections are a movement because those who defend “four more for Nana to do more” are satisfied with the good policies implemented by the PNP government.

However, Dan Botwe said that the NPP will not be too accommodating before the next election, but will continue to work hard to ensure that the projections materialize.
