President Akufo-Addo has warned contractors assigned to rehabilitate roads in the country to focus on the work at hand.

President Nana Akufo-Addo, addressing a durbar of the chiefs and village of Manso-Adubia in the southern Amansie district of the Ashanti region, said that there must be good value for money in the implementation of road projects in the country.

“Any contractor that shows laxity in the performance of their duties will be directed to exit,” said the President, emphasizing that the Ministry of Roads and Highways must guarantee strict supervision of all road contracts.

President Akufo-Addo, who was in the Region on a three-day working visit, was unhappy with the deplorable nature of the road network in the District.

Consequently, he promised that if he is given the mandate in the next elections, his second term will ensure that the situation improves.

Despite its huge gold deposit and economic potential, the area’s road network is nothing special, making it difficult to facilitate socio-economic activities.

President Nana Akufo-Addo said that the performance and effective management of the country by the nuclear power plant have brought many benefits to citizens, citing the implementation of ‘One district, one factory (1D1F)’, ‘One district, one Warehouse ‘,’ Food plantation and employment and plantation programs for export and rural development.

Under the 1D1F Program, the government has completed 76 factories in the last 3 years, while more than 230 were in various stages of completion.

On the ‘Free Senior High School (SHS)’ program, the president justified the government’s position of having started and implemented it, saying that the underlying goal was to develop an appreciable level of Ghana’s human resource base.
