President Akufo-Addo has cut the grass to resume construction work on the dualization of the Sokode-Titrinu ring road within the Ho municipality of Volta in a short ceremony held in his honor.

The 5.3 km project funded by the Government of Ghana (GoG) would include the construction and laying of bitumen on the internal roads of the main campus of the University of Health and Allied Sciences in Ho.

The project, once completed, would alleviate the frustrations of students, staff and road users in general.

Ahead of the mowing event, Highway Minister Amoako Attah told reporters at a press conference held at the residence of the Volta regional minister that road infrastructure remains the biggest challenge in the country.

Amoako also revealed that a total of 38 road projects are currently underway in the Volta region, while a further 13 road projects are expected to be added in the next two weeks, bringing the total road construction works in the region up. region at 567km.

The Minister of Roads also told the media that work on the Volivo Bridge over the Volta River would begin as soon as possible, once the financing and the entire procurement process have been completed.

The president, who is on a one-day tour of the Volta region, is also expected to cut grass for the water extension of the five-district water project to communities within the Adaklu district.
