President Akufo-Addo has cut the grass for the start of construction of the 71.25-kilometer Enchi-Elubo highway, which is being financed by COCOBOD.

According to Akufo-Addo, the road will be built by a Chinese company, Top International Engineering Corporation (TIEC) as a
Testimony of the government’s commitment to pursue the ‘Year of the Roads’
diary.

He revealed in a press release that the various failed attempts at rebuilding the road in the past were due to the Contractor’s failure.

He noted that protests by chiefs and residents throughout major communities such as Kromokrom, Kwawu, Omanpe, Nkwanta Nos. 1 and 2, Jema, Boinso, Ngakain and Asemkrom were all well-intentioned as they were enduring the worst of the deplorable road.

As a result, he highlighted that the entire 71.25 km has been redesigned and repackaged in the contract, which, when completed, is expected to improve people’s economic lives by improving the free movement of goods and people, as well as Reduce travel time and vehicle operating cost.

For the president, what excites him most about the 71.25 km highway is that it serves as a main conduit in the transport of various crops, cocoa and wood produced in the northern and middle sections of the region to the port of Takoradi and other parts. from the country.

The Minister of Roads and Highways, Hon. Kwasi Amoako Atta, in his statements indicated that the road will be completed in 42 months, adding that “President Akufo-Addo himself, God willing, will come right here to commission this road.”

Akufo-Addo also took the time to inspect the Dadieso town road project in the Suaman district of the north western region, which it awarded as
part of the Cocoa Roads improvement project.

The road project includes the improvement of the secondary roads from Juaboso to Dadieso (16.4-18.40 km), the secondary roads from Kaleo to Dadieso (2.8 km) and the roads from Dadieso (5.8 km) .
