Rapper Michael Owusu Addo, known in various music circles as Sarkodie, has praised President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his decisions to ensure the safety of Ghanaians both at home and abroad.
Although locked up in the United States of America following the closure of borders to reduce coronavirus transmission in Ghana, Sarkodie firmly believes that travel restriction is of interest to the entire nation.
Sending a message of solidarity from his residence in the United States to Ghanaians and their native Sark, the hit maker ‘oofeetso’ who has earned the ‘The Highest’ award thanked the efforts made by the Akufo-Addo administration in the fight against this life-threatening coronavirus pandemic.
Sarkodie took his hat off to the President and his team “for being at the top of their game handling this COVID-19 situation. We all appreciate it but I know it will not be an easy fight, especially for a developing country like Ghana. It will take a lot of resources. A lot of funds will be needed and I’m pretty sure the government will do everything possible. But I still feel that as a people we need to support in our own way because it’s really not just going to affect us, you know we have relatives who are also in risk at the same time. “
Despite this, the rapper who is far from home is already longing for a return as the ‘home sweet home’ mantra has quickly caught up with him.
Yes, of course, there is nothing more peaceful and happier than a good and safe home; therefore, Sarkodie is assuring all his music fans that he will return as soon as possible when the borders are finally open.
“I really miss my home, but just as much as I miss my home, I fully understand these steps taken to control the pandemic for the safety of everyone.”
