The head of the Forestry Commission’s Monitoring Unit, Charles Owusu has ridiculed former NDC president and standard-bearer John Dramani Mahama for his promises to the Ghanaians.
Former President John Mahama is counting on the votes of Ghanaians during the general elections to become president again.
The former president, in his attempt to return to power, has made a catalog of promises to Ghanaians and among some of the things he has asked him to do is legalize the commercial motorcycle business, known in the local language as ” okada ” , improve health infrastructure. and also review the government’s free education policy to improve it for school-age children, their parents and families.
These are just some of the things the former president has said as the nation waits for his party, the Democratic National Congress (NDC), to present its 2020 manifesto.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mahama’s promise of okada legalization has been met with a number of objections because, when he was president of Ghana, he wanted to shut down the okada business.
However, Mr. Mahama is unfazed by dissenting views as he continues to make new campaign promises.
Speaking to presenter Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM’s ‘Kokrokoo’, Charles Owusu said that President Nana Akufo-Addo has done everything that his political opponents, in this case referring to the former president, were unable to do and, furthermore, has done other great things to improve. the living conditions of Ghanaians.
Alluding to the provision of free water and subsidized electricity by the government to Ghanaians for six months, the first being implemented during the closing season from April to June and the second phase starting in July, he believed that the remarkable feat of the president is creating a headache for Mahama and the NDC.
According to him, the president has widened the gap between himself and the former president, causing the latter to make outrageous and annoying promises.
“Why do you want to lead people to a career like that?” he jovially asked President Akufo-Addo.
