Akufo-Addo embarks on an 8-day tour of the North Western, Ashanti and Eastern regions

President Akufo-Addo will begin an eight-day working visit to the north western, Ashanti and eastern regions of the country from Thursday.

On this tour, the president is expected to commission projects, begin construction of new projects, and visit the revered palaces of traditional authorities.

In Sefwi Wiawso, President Akufo-Addo will meet and inaugurate the Regional House of Chiefs and cut the grass for the construction of his office complex.

It will commission the 4th Fly Zipline distribution center and proceed to launch the Cocoa Rehabilitation program. In Akontombra, he will inspect a rice factory and cut grass for the construction of the Akontombra-Dadieso road and the cocoa station.

Day 2 of the Western North tour will begin in Enchi, with the lawn mowing for the start of construction of the Enchi-Elubo road in the Aowin constituency, and an inspection of the Feeder Roads office complex in Enchi.

President Akufo-Addo will go to the Suaman constituency to inspect the road works in the town of Dadieso.

In Bodi, President Akufo-Addo will inspect the progress of works on the Bodi-Ahebianso road and the building of the Regional Directorate of Health.

He will depart from Bodi to inspect work on the Benchema-Nkwanta road to Osei Kwadwo, and will cut grass for the construction of a waste recycling and composting plant at Benchema Nkwanta in the Juaboso district.

On the 3rd, the President will mow the lawn for the Sefwi Wiawso Market Expansion Project to begin. It will inspect the Model School Project at Awaso in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai constituency, and commission a Science Lab at Queens Girls SHS.

An inspection of the Bibiani Town Roads Project will end the tour of the region.

Starting Monday, September 28, the president will begin his three-day tour of the Ashanti region with a visit to the UNIJAY factory under policy 1D1F in Asokwa.

He will proceed to inspect the ongoing expansion project at Kumasi Airport followed by a visit to Asntehene Otumfour Osei Tutu II at Manhyia Palace.

He will go to inspect the construction of the Afari Military Hospital in the Atwima Nwabiagya constituency and carry out a brief inspection of the Tanoso-Abuakwa highway.

He will commission a waste recycling and composting plant in Bosomtwe.

The commissioning of the Kasapreko water, juice and soft drink factory at 1D1F in Kwadaso will end the first day’s activities in the Ashanti region.

The second day in the Ashanti region will begin with the launch of a series of projects at the Apraman MA basic school in the Nyiaeso constituency. The President will commission a 12-unit classroom block at Juaso SHTS, inspect the work on the Town Roads construction there; inspect work at a pork processing factory in 1D1F and a fertilizer processing factory also at 1D1F in Asankare in the Asante Akim South constituency. It will also inspect the Krofa-Brentuokrom-Adomfe highway.

In Konongo, President Akufo-Addo will inspect work on the Town Roads project, commission a 12-unit block of classrooms, and conduct an inspection of a children’s dormitory project at Konongo Odumase SHS.

He will visit the jockeys factory under the 1D1F industrialization policy and inaugurate the Ghana Tree Crop Development Board in Nhyiaeso to finish the day’s work.

The third day in the Ashanti region begins with mowing for the start of the first phase of the new Kumasi-Obuasi standard-gauge railway line in Asokwa.

The President will inspect the construction of the Maabang Town Roads, commission the Tepa District Hospital and cut the grass for the construction of Phase Two and Three of the Tepa Town Roads Project in the Ahafo-Ano Norte constituency; where he will also order a warehouse under 1D1W in Odikrokwanta.

The president, in Mankranso, will commission a 6-unit block of classrooms, inspect the construction of a children’s dormitory block at Mankranso SHS and inspect the construction of the roads in the city of Mankranso.

President Akufo-Addo will begin his tour of the Eastern Region on Thursday, October 1, 2020 with an ongoing construction inspection of the Nkawkaw-New Abirem highway.

Will cut grass for the construction of the Anyinam District Hospital in Atiwa East, inspect the construction of a Science SHS in Abomoso, cut the grass to start work on the Kwabeng District Hospital, inspect the work on the Osiem-Begoro road and will meet with the House of Chiefs of the Eastern Region in Koforidua.

There he will commission several GETFUND projects and cut grass for a waste recycling and composting plant.

On the last day of the tour you will find the President in Kyebi with a courtesy visit to the Okyenhene and Okyeman Council.

It will inspect the works on the Asamankese-Akoroso road and the Ahyiaemu-Oda stretch, the Akwatia Town roads and the construction of the Akyem-Oda-Amanfopong road in Akyem Swedru.

The lawn mowing to begin work at the Achiase District Hospital will end the president’s working visit to the North West, Ashanti and East regions.
