Akufo-Addo commissions new building from Metro TV Group

President Akufo-Addo has commissioned the new Metro Television Group building in Accra as part of his working tour of the Greater Accra region.

The new building located in North Ridge will now serve as the new studios for the private media group with a new tagline “Insightful and Inspiring Moments.”

The president was ushered into the building by the leadership of the media group accompanied by some government officials, parliamentarians and the clergy.

President Akufo-Addo commended the management and staff of the Metro TV Media group for their contributions to the growth of media in the country.

Sophia Kudjordji Lissah, director of corporate communications for the Jospong group, later told reporters that the popular brand Metro tv remains the foundation of the new media group.

He said the four-story building will also house offices and radio stations belonging to the media group.

“More exciting shows are coming … but Metro TV will continue to show its viewers’ favorite shows, including Good Evening Ghana, Good Morning Ghana and sports.”

Madame Kudjordji Lissah said that the capacity of the media group staff has also been strengthened to meet the new standard and technological space.

He praised President Akufo-Addo for defending freedom of the press.

“It is exciting that the president is commissioning this building and demonstrating his commitment to freedom of the media or freedom of expression as a vehicle for national growth and the promotion of democracy,” he added.
