President Akufo-Addo has asked the Christian community to dedicate Sunday’s religious service to pray for peaceful elections as the nation heads to the polls on Monday, December 7, 2020.
This request is in keeping with the President’s belief that we are all the Lord’s, and despite all the necessary arrangements for peaceful elections being made, the Almighty’s intervention remains absolutely crucial.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Information, the president reiterated his belief that the battle remains the Lord’s.
President Akufo-Addo has already signed the 2020 Presidential Peace Pact where he reiterated his commitment to peace and stability in the country.
In delivering his speech, the President assured the people of Ghana that he is ready to accept the verdict of the elections.
“I have said that we believe in the elections and I am pleased to give my word that we will accept the verdict of the people of Ghana. Above all, I promise that the peace, unity and security of Ghana will be our primary consideration, ”the president said.
