The President of the Republic of Ghana and standard-bearer of the New Patriotic Party (PNP), Nana Akufo-Addo, has advised voters in Kwesimintsim and Mpohor constituencies not to vote in a ‘skirt and blouse’ in the December elections to give him adequate representation in Parliament.

Addressing a separate mini-rally in the two constituencies, President Akufo-Addo explained that the nature of Ghana’s politics required that the President have adequate representation in Parliament to facilitate the passage of bills and legislative instruments to facilitate your work.

The mini rally was part of his visit to the Western Region and to pay tribute to the late Anthony KK Sam, former mayor of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA).

According to him, those who claimed to be stalwarts of the party and yet asked for a vote for it and not for the NPP parliamentary candidates only aimed to undermine the party’s fortunes.

He said that having a member of Parliament (MP) like Dr. Prince Hammid Armah, who is highly respected by him, could lead to important development projects for the constituency.

“This should be a source of encouragement for people to vote for the PNP parliamentary candidates,” he explained.

He mentioned some of the projects undertaken through Dr. Armah’s efforts such as curriculum improvement in education and the Prince Armah Foundation.

The two candidates, Dr. Armah, who is the Executive Secretary of the National Council for Curriculum Assessment (NaCCA), and Mr. John Arboah Sanie, parliamentary candidate for the Mpohor Constituency, called on the voters to have confidence on them and vote for them while voting for President Akufo-Addo.

President Akufo-Addo was accompanied by Mr. Allan Kyerematen, Minister of Trade and Industry, Western Regional Minister, Mr. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, the former MP for Kwesimintsim, Mr. Joe Baido-Ansah and the Regional Chairman of the party , Mr. Ndede Siah among other senior party officials.
