The three candidates who submitted nominations to compete in the presidential race in the upcoming elections on December 7 have received the green light from the Electoral Commission to participate.

All three are; leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) Akua Donkor, leader of the National Democratic Party, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings and standard-bearer of the Progressive People’s Party, Brigitte Dzogbenuku (PPP).

These women have been named among the 12 candidates who have been officially authorized by the EC led by Jean Mensa to participate in the next general elections.

At a press conference in Accra on Monday, October 19, 2020, Election Commission Chairman Jean Mensa announced that although these candidates had some IT and technical issues with their forms, they were able to address them within the stipulated period.

Along with the other two, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang of the NDC and Margaret Sarfo of the LPG, four women are competing for presidential and vice-presidential positions in this year’s elections.

Brigitte Dzogbenuku was the fourth presidential candidate to submit nominations, while Akua Donkor was the sixth to do the same.

Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawling was the seventh presidential candidate to present her nomination to the EC.
