The Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, the combined force of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) launched its Digital Learning CGMA Financial Leadership Program (CGMA FLP) for employers and universities from Africa, Asia and Europe.
This serves as a new and alternative approach to completing the CIMA Professional Qualification.
This launch comes in response to the growing demand to offer remote access and flexible, self-paced online learning.
It will develop future generations of Holders of the Global Management Chartered Accountant (CGMA) designation needed to drive business performance and support economic recovery.
With traditional in-person exam and tuition methods challenged by the Covid-19 pandemic and digital acceleration, this new online learning and assessment platform provides instant online access for aspiring business and financial leaders to learn financial skills. necessary in business for the equivalence of the level of education of a master’s degree.
The CGMA FLP covers the competencies in finance, accounting, business, people and digital skills established in the CIMA Professional Qualification curriculum and assesses their application in operations, management and strategy.
Students can begin their learning journey at an appropriate entry level, building on existing educational achievements, credentials, and practical experience, and their employer or university can monitor and support their students as they progress.
Upon successful completion of each of the three levels of guided learning and assessments, participants must successfully pass the business simulation case studies and meet the professional experience requirements to become a Global Management Chartered Accountant.
They then gain access to the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, the world’s largest body of professional accountants, representing more than 650,000 members and students.
Professor Nathaniel Boso, Dean of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, explained: “We have been looking for ways to supplement our courses with hands-on business-focused learning and simulation.
“The CGMA FLP is very well suited to what we offer and has the added benefit of being accessible online and outside of the physical classroom.”
