Former Asante Kotoko forward Yahaya Mohammed has pleaded with club fans to treat Brazilian midfielder Fabio Gama with the utmost affection to pave the way for players from the South American country to join the Ghana Premier League.
The Aduana Stars striker revealed his admiration for the 28-year-old Kotoko midfielder, insisting that Gama can sell Ghana’s Premier League to another Brazilian if he enjoys his stay in the West African country.
Gama has been impressive for the Reds since he made his debut against Liberty Professionals.
“I respect him for all the things I’ve heard about him. I respect him very much, ”Ghana forward Yahaya told Wuntomi TV.
“It is not easy to leave Brazil and choose to come and play in Africa. Under normal circumstances, we want to go there and he wants to come here. You know why you are here.
“For me, we have to stop negative conversations about him and encourage him. So that we can attract more of your likes to help make our league look more attractive and professional.
“Kotoko needs to encourage him and make him aware of the type of club he plays for. They are a great team here in Ghana. If he succeeds and retells his story, he could attract others to join our local league. “
