An ultra-modern Accident and Emergency Complex will be built in Dormaa Central at the Dormaa Hospital in the Bono region.
The Project is being financed by a facility of 140 million euros insured by the Government, not only for the construction of this Center, but also for the construction of a new Hospital in Tema, the reconstruction of the Central Medical Warehouses and the construction of a new 100-bed District Hospital in Nkoranza in the Bono Este region, the lawn of which was cut by the president on Wednesday.
Speaking at the lawn mowing ceremony on Thursday, President Akufo-Addo stated that the people of Dormaa, with a population of approximately one million, deserve a modern and appropriate Accident and Emergency Complex to replace the existing one, to attend to the care medical emergency and trauma cases.
Upon completion, the new 45-bed Accident and Emergency Center will have a 12-bed Triage; a 33-bed room; surgical room to include the main operating room, a procedure room and a recovery room; imaging services to include x-ray and fluoroscopy; laboratory; and plaster room and laboratory.
“The Minister of Health has reliably informed me that the entire Dormaa Hospital is in need of a major renovation, in addition to what is being done today. You can be sure that the Minister will work to complete, in due time, what is starting today, ”he said.
Since the Accident and Emergency Complex was carried out at great cost to the taxpayer, he appealed to the Chiefs and people of Dormaa to help ensure that the infrastructure and equipment are properly maintained for the benefit of all .
On behalf of the Government and people of Ghana, the President expressed his gratitude to the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG), which continues to work with the Government to bring health care to the doorstep of the common citizen.
“I am very hopeful that, by God’s grace, we are on the threshold of something extraordinary in Ghana and hopefully with four more for Nana and the PNP, I hope that all of us, gathered here, will be present again, yes God he wants, for the implementation of this project, once it is finished ”, he added.
The president expressed his gratitude to the chiefs and people of Dormaa for the strong support they have given his government since he took office in January 2017.
“One of yours, your excellent Member of Parliament from Central Dormaa, Kwaku Agyemang Manu, is the Minister of Health, who has behaved with great credit in the office, especially during this difficult period of the COVID-19 pandemic. He has been a true pillar of my Government and I am glad that, under his direction as Minister of Health, the Dormaa Hospital is being enabled with this Center ”, he added.
