AC Milan aim to win the Serie A title for the first time since 2010-11

Theo Hernández’s goal in the 93rd minute gave AC Milan a dramatic victory over Lazio to keep them on top of Serie A.

Ante Rebic’s header put Milan ahead, before Hakan Calhanoglu’s penalty doubled the lead in the 17th minute.

Luis Alberto slashed a goal for Lazio in the second half with a header from a rebound after Gianluigi Donnarumma blocked Ciro Immobile’s penalty.

Immobile’s volley made it 2-2, but Hernández headed in from the Calhanoglu corner to win at the end of Milan.

The victory puts them one point ahead of city rivals Inter Milan, who would have reached the top if Milan had lost points.

Inter won 2-1 away from home in Verona thanks to second-half goals from Lautaro Martínez and a header from Milan Skriniar with Ivan Ilic’s Verona goal.

Juventus have won Serie A in each of the last nine seasons, but are sixth and 10 points behind Milan after losing 3-0 at home to Fiorentina on Tuesday.

Milan, without injured top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic, are aiming to become Italian champions for the first time since 2010-11, when Inter’s streak of five consecutive titles ended.
