Atlético de Madrid coach Diego Simeone faces eager wait for news of the injuries of three of his star players during the international break.

According to reports from Marca, goalkeeper Jan Oblak missed Slovenia’s 1-1 draw in the UEFA Nations League with Kosovo due to a shoulder injury sustained in training.

The 27-year-old could return for the weekday trip from Slovenia to Greece, but Atlético will likely request that he return to Madrid for treatment on the matter.

Central defender Stefan Savic and midfielder Héctor Herrera will also return to the Spanish capital after sustaining service injuries with Montenegro and Mexico, respectively.

Both players are reportedly struggling with muscle injuries and not ready for an extended period on the sidelines, but the news will be a concern for Simeone, ahead of a frenzied series of matches in the coming weeks.

Atlético will attempt to defend their undefeated start to the 2020/21 La Liga season with a home game against Barcelona on their return to action on November 21.

That game is followed by a Champions League double header with Lokomotiv Moscow and Bayern Munich on either side of the league trip to Valencia.
