Those behind the vote of no-confidence that was presented against the Barça leadership of Josep Maria Bartomeu want the club’s presidential elections to be held imminently.
The elections are set for January 24, but they see no reason to wait.
“Once again, we ask the leadership to call immediate elections,” those behind the motion have said.
“The club has to advance in a democratic way and respect the will of the club’s members.”
They went on to explain that a January 24 date is “inexplicably late” and even “absurd.”
“The [Carles Tusquets] He has chosen to delay what should be a procedure, “they continued.” That was not the will of the majority of Barcelonans, nor the way to do things for the club.
“It is irresponsible that the new board is elected after almost three months. A lot of work could have been done by the time it passes.”
The Tusquets team plans to meet with the Catalan government next week to confirm plans for the elections.
