Real Madrid’s director of institutional relations, Emilio Butragueño, stressed that the remodeling of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium will boost the club’s image worldwide and will be strategic in his plans to further expand its brand.

Butragueño also noted that fans and neutrals will have the opportunity to enjoy the stadium throughout the year and not just during Real Madrid’s home games.

“[The Estadio Santiago Bernabeu] will be an essential and fundamental element for the future of Real Madrid, since [Santiago] The Bernabéu took office in 1947, “said Butragueño.” A new stage will begin at the club. The stadium is in a strategic location and will be an icon for the city.

“We will aspire to dominate world football thanks to the stadium. It will be enjoyed 365 days a year. The fans will be able to enjoy the stadium throughout the year and not just during the 30 games played a year.”

“We aspire to be the best and for that we must have the best players and the stadium will be a strategic element.”

Butragueño went on to indicate what the Bernabéu means for the Real Madrid fans and added that the plan is to turn the new field into the best venue in the world of football.

“It has a component of pride because that place explains much of the history of Real Madrid, unforgettable nights and what Real Madrid is today,” added Butragueño. “It is our home, the place where the family gathers and where we get excited.

“This place has to adapt to changing times and the future. It is going to surprise many. It is going to be the best stadium in the world and a source of pride for the Real Madrid fans.”

Real Madrid did not sign any players last summer and Butragueño justified the team’s transfer policy by highlighting the difficult times football clubs go through during the pandemic.

“You had to be constant and that’s why we sold and loaned players,” Butragueño continued. “This was what the entity needed.

“The club has always been very active in the matter of signings, but you had to be careful. It was an exercise in responsibility and coherence.

“The situation remains the same. We are in November and we must see how everything evolves. Hopefully soon we can enjoy football as we have always understood it.”
