The Kwame Nkrumah Ideological Institute (KNII) praised the African Union (AU) for taking steps to get the African Center for Disease Control to review and determine the effectiveness of COVID-19 Organics.

COVID Organics, which is an herbal drink, recently discovered in Madagascar, has been announced by President Andry Rajoelina as a cure for COVID-19.

Dr. Benjamin Anyagre, KNII Executive Director, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that the AU movement was laudable and said: “We hope that the UA will continue to show interest in such initiatives, towards the growth of Africa for the benefit not only of the continent, but of the entire world. “

He said that the current global fight to find a cure for COVID-19 demonstrated that it was crucial to encourage innovation from all parts of the world, rather than seeking ideas and solutions from a single group of people.

Dr. Anyagre said the time had come for Africans to start looking for internal solutions, as Madagascar had done.

“We congratulate the people and government of Madagascar, as well as the AU for the bold movement, and we hope that such initiatives in Africa will be encouraged and not discouraged,” he said.

Dr. Anyagre said the discovery in Madagascar should make Africans dare to come out with what could help not only Africa, but the whole world.

He urged Africans to shake off the long-held notion that efficient innovations only came from the West, and said it was worth noting that several great innovations in the world were originated by Africans.

“Africans must also be strong and support each other, and also believe in ourselves towards the well-being of Africa and the entire world community,” said Dr. Anyagre.

The KNII Executive Secretary encouraged the African leadership to work hard to strengthen the various systems and institutions on the continent, to ensure a largely self-sufficient population.

He said that what mattered most was that the continent ensure that people with the right knowledge and experience take the lead in the continent’s quest for true growth and self-fulfillment.

President Andry Rajoelina of Madagascar launched the drink in April and said it could prevent and cure COVID-19.

President Rajoelina explained that the drink will undergo clinical trials, while several African countries have also expressed interest in it.

While efforts are being made globally to find a cure for COVID-19, a remedy for the disease has yet to be found, which has cowed the entire global community.
