The leadership of the Democratic National Congress (NDC) led by former President John Mahama this afternoon visited the family of the late President Jerry John Rawlings at his Ridge residence in Accra.
Accompanied by NDC Vice President Candidate Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, National President Samuel Ofosu Ampofo; Secretary General Johnson Asiedu Nketia and former Speaker of Parliament Edward Doe Adjaho, leader of the NDC, expressed the party’s condolences to Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, the children and the immediate family.
The visit to the Rawlings’ residence followed a meeting of the NDC Political Committee on Friday morning.
The party had earlier announced on Thursday the suspension of its campaign activities across the country when news of the NDC Founder’s death broke.
Other members of the delegation included Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu, Minority Chief Whip Muntaka Mubarak, NDC 2020 Campaign Director, Professor Joshua Alabi and other national and parliamentary officials.
Meanwhile, the NDC has opened a book of condolences for the party’s founder and former chairman, Jerry John Rawlings.
