The President of the NDC-UK and Ireland Chapter on behalf of the Chapter, Alhaji Alhassan Mbalba, has expressed condolences for his attire to the family of former President Rawlings who passed away at the Korle-bu University Hospital after a short illness.
President Rawlings passed away on November 12, 2020.

NDC UK & Ireland Chapter mourns H.E President John Jerry Rawlings.
All members of the NDC-UK and Ireland Chapter are in a state of shock and grief following the untimely disappearance of the founder of the Democratic National Congress, SE, President John Jerry Rawlings.
President Rawlings was an altruistic, patriotic, nationalistic, and selfless leader who used his charismatic attributes to unite Ghanaians and support his visionary initiatives to advance and advance our collective interest as a country.
President Rawlings contributed greatly to restoring and consolidating democracy in Ghana, but also to the socio-economic development of our beloved homeland.
Our dear Founder was a true social democrat, revolutionary and defender of equal opportunities for all without any kind of discrimination.
He was a prominent and iconic political figure both in Ghana and on the international stage and contributed to enhancing Ghana’s reputation as a beacon of democracy in sub-Saharan Africa.
Ghanaians and the entire NDC fraternity will deeply miss him.
Our sincere condolences to his dear wife, former First Lady Mrs. Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings and their children.
May your soul rest in perfect peace. He will be forever in our hearts.
