Thomas Partey will stay with Arsenal during the international break after sustaining a thigh injury during his team’s loss to Aston Villa last Sunday night.
The £ 45m signing from Atlético de Madrid was substituted at half-time after suffering what is believed to be a thigh injury following his first chance against Emiliano Martínez.
And he will not join Ghana for their African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Sudan over the next week while he awaits the results of a scan.
Partey will continue to receive treatment to ensure that he is back in shape as soon as possible.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was asked for an update on the defensive midfielder after Villa’s match, which his team lost 3-0.
