Ghana to play Sudan behind closed doors

The general public is informed that Ghana’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan will be held behind closed doors.

This is part of a series of measures taken by the African Football Confederation (CAF) to ensure that matches are played as safely as possible. According to the CAF, matches must be played under strict conditions to ensure that players, referees and officials are protected from the corona virus pandemic.

The guide describes the processes that will need to be implemented before the games are played. As a result, players, technical team members, essential service providers and ball boys will undergo mandatory COVID-19 testing before the game.

Members of the media are also reminded that there will be strict adherence to protocols during and after the match. Journalists who intend to comment live should observe social distancing during the match.

There will be no post-match press conferences, mixed zones, and flash photography opportunities as only photographers from the two teams will be allowed access. But the Communications team will hold a virtual post-match press conference via the official Facebook page of the Ghana Football Association.

Again, the public should take note that the game will be broadcast live on television.

Ghana will face Sudan on Thursday, November 12, 2020 in a matchday 3 match scheduled for 16:00 GMT at Cape Coast Stadium.
