The six Premier League rebels will say to their colleagues, Scrap Drop, and we’ll end the season.
Norwich, Watford, Aston Villa, Bournemouth, West Ham and Brighton are ready to commit for their opposition to playing matches on neutral territory.
But that will only happen if the threat of the fall is removed at Monday’s Premier League summit.
A senior official from one of the clubs involved said: “They all act in their own interest, but sacrificing the benefits of the house edge is not negotiable for those threatened with relegation.”
And there is at least one other obstacle to that result, as the Football Association has already expressed its commitment to relegation from the top flight.

French Knockaert, borrowed from Fulham said: “Germany is starting again soon and I see that it is a bit absurd, a little dangerous for society and for the players.”
“I don’t think it’s the best decision to keep playing in the sense that we players are going to take a risk.”
“I think many players agree with me. It’s scary I am afraid of contracting the virus when I go shopping and not only think of myself.
“If I catch him, I am young and can be in good health. But I could pass it on to people close to me who are more vulnerable.
“The day that happens, we will have it in our conscience for the rest of our lives and it is the same with soccer.”
“We all have family at home. I am 28 years old, I have children, I have a family that I can see from time to time.
Knockaert added: “I have seen three canceled leagues. Belgium, France and the Netherlands, for me, have made the right decision. Now we will see what other countries do.
“For me, the best thing in this case is that the players have the right to speak and say what they want.
“The government and the leagues will make decisions, but in everything the players have. It is absurd not to take into account the opinions of the players. “
