Hakim Isharck, 22, of Gomoa Ojobi, in the Midwest Gomoa district, has made history as the youngest person to be crowned Best Overall Farmer at the recently concluded 36th National Farmer’s Day celebration.

Hakim Isharck is a former student at Swedru Senior High School and is currently a level 200 student at Presbyterian College of Education, Akropong-Akuapem.

He studied Business at the upper secondary level and currently reads B. Ed Mathematics and ICT.

With his background in education, many people have praised him for winning the award for best overall farmer at a very young age, especially when they found out that he does not have a certificate in agriculture, but a background in business and mathematics.

Speaking to the writer, he said he was born into a farming family and that has helped him do more.

He also noted that he started his own farm on just 100 gh about a decade ago and that the profits from his farm are what he has been using to fund his education and more.

Hakim is quoted as saying several times that he was “working tirelessly to win the next best farmer in the next few years.”
