Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew scored his first goal of the campaign when Crystal Palace scored a 4-1 win over Leeds United.

The Ghanaian forward recently returned to action after contracting coronavirus while on international service with his country. Eberechi Eze scored his first goal at Crystal Palace with a sublime free kick as Roy Hodgson’s team thrashed Leeds United in an entertaining match at Selhurst Park.

Scott Dann headed into Eze’s corner to put Palace ahead after 12 minutes, before the £ 19.5 million summer contract 22-year-old Eze expertly doubled his play in the top corner.

Leeds forward Patrick Bamford had been denied a draw when the video assistant referee dismissed his excellent, chipped finish due to his outstretched arm being out of play.

But Bamford, who endured a difficult loan period with Palace in 2015, seized his next opportunity as well, controlling Mateusz Klich’s header with his chest before shooting into the bottom corner. Palace’s two-goal lead was restored before the break when Helder Costa conceded an own goal while attempting to block a Patrick van Aanholt cross from the left.

Pascal Struijk narrowly headed in and Ezgjan Alioski was denied as Leeds looked for an answer in the second half, but Jordan Ayew put the result beyond doubt with Palace’s fourth in the 70th minute. Leeds fell to 15th place.
