The Deputy Minister of Energy in charge of Oil, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, has laughed at the statements of the opposition Democratic National Congress that he detained ‘Dumsor’ before leaving office.
On multiple platforms, NDC standard-bearer Mr. John Dramani Mahama has emphasized that the government of President Akufo-Addo should not take credit for the stable power that Ghanaians have enjoyed over the past four years.
According to the former president, he made sure his government fixed the spill of power in 2016 in the run-up to the elections until his government was ousted.
In reaction to the claims, Hon. Mohammed Amin Adam says that no one should take the NDC seriously.
Speaking at a City Council meeting organized by the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors (CBOD), the Minister noted that ‘dumsor’ is now a thing of the past due to the clever interventions carried out by the nuclear power plant government since taking over the position.
“Nuclear power plants are better managers of the energy sector through which we managed to end the ‘tipper’. Dumsor will never return. With President Akufo Addo we will never have dumors ”, Hon. Mohammed Amin Adam said.
The Deputy Minister of Energy continued: “We keep the lights on and we promise that we will continue to light them at affordable prices. We also make sure that the constant supply of petroleum products reaches our markets and we will never have the long lines that we experience under the NDC at gas stations. ”
Meanwhile, Hon. Mohammed Amin Adam has revealed that the government has paid off the gigantic debts of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG). He added that the government of the nuclear power plant injected GHS4 billion to make the company more liquid.
