Three people were killed in a bizarre traffic accident in Anloga Junction, a suburb of Kumasi, the regional capital of Ashanti, reports say.
A motorized tricycle, with three occupants, burst into flames after colliding with a trailer, killing all the occupants of the motorized tricycle.
According to Citi News, a witness said the loaded trailer collided with the motorized tricycle because its brakes had failed.
The motorized tricycle, according to the witness, burst into flames shortly after the trailer dragged it down the road.
“We were standing at the crossroads when we noticed two people getting off a bus and getting into the tricycle. The tricycle driver used a one-way road and collided with a trailer coming from the opposite direction with a failed brake. The trailer pulled the trike close to where I was and when I got there, the trike was engulfed in flames.
“When the trailer driver realized that the trike was on fire, he backed up and got out with his partner. The car has now been towed from the scene and the police have also turned over the burned bodies to an ambulance.
The fire service car arrived after the bodies had been burned beyond recognition, ”Citi News quoted the witness in a report on Thursday, November 5, 2020.
