Barcelona continues to try to solve one of the biggest non-sporting problems it faces at the moment, as it seeks an agreement to cut the salaries of its players.
The pay cut is proceeding very slowly at the moment, and the club and the players are still somewhat separated in their views. The meetings were ongoing on Thursday and, although no agreement was reached on the payment, they did agree to extend the deadline until next Wednesday.
The initial deadline had been set for this Thursday, although both were happy to extend it.
As things stand, the players are still waiting for the club’s management to justify the proposed cut of 191 million euros.
Barcelona, which spends 70 per cent of its income on salaries, are trying to reduce its salary bill by a huge amount due to financial problems that paralyze the club, although the players still do not agree with the proposals.

Players are happy to negotiate, contrary to initial reports.
Several players have recently agreed to contract renewals, although their new salaries are likely to always drop.
