The current contract offer on the table for Sergio Ramos

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos is the most important player on the team, so an extension shouldn’t be a problem for the club.

Sergio Ramos is not like most center-backs. The most obvious example of his uniqueness lies in his ability to score goals. Many of his goals go from the head, such as his 100th goal for Real Madrid in their victory over Inter Milan, but he is also capable of scoring from free throws and with either foot in open play. And who can deny his greatness from the penalty spot?

Even at the age of 34, Ramos is still one of the best center-backs in world football and continues to score goals for Los Blancos. The captain is so crucial to the club that when he is not available in the Champions League, his chances are greatly diminished.

In the absence of a one-year contract, Ramos and Real are in negotiations for an extension, and there really is no doubt that he will remain at Madrid. It’s too good and too important to let go.

But what would its extension be like? For a while, has the question been a year or two for No. 4?

According to a report by Cadena SER, Real Madrid has offered Sergio Ramos a two-year extension. They would normally go year after year with a 34-year-old, but Ramos has shown no signs of slowing down. He has won two more years with the whites (at least), and the Madridistas would not want more than to see him in the squad for as long as possible.

Also, Ramos will not receive a raise to his contract, which makes sense. He is one of the best players in the club and is paid accordingly as a leader and star man, but as he ages his game is not going to progress.

The most important thing is that we are still in a pandemic situation and Real’s finances have been greatly affected. They can’t give him more money, and Ramos, along with everyone else on the team, almost certainly gets it. Furthermore, the fact that Ramos does not accept a raise helps the club save for much-needed improvements, such as Kylian Mbappé and Eduardo Camavinga in 2021.

Expect to hear news that Ramos and Real are finalizing a contract extension soon. The 2020-2021 season clearly won’t be Ramos’ last year with Los Merengues.
