NPP’s low score in governance is not surprising – Dr. Ahadzie

The rector of the Ghana Institute of Social Democracy, Dr. William Ahadzie, says he is not surprised that the New Patriotic Party (PNP) has obtained 59.25% governance.

This follows a report produced by IMANI Ghana as part of efforts to exhaust the PNP’s 2016 manifesto scorecard in regards to party promises and the execution of those promises.

Dr. Ahadzie described NPP’s 59.25% governance score as poor and urged the Akufo-Addo government to sit down.

“A large percentage of a small security is still less than an average percentage of the largest number of promises,” he said.

He also explained that it was the handling of some problems and scandals, including the PDS and the Agyapa Agreement, that led IMANI to reach such a conclusion.

He reiterated his position that the pre-election polls carried out by the Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) and IMANI are not entirely correct as other reports show otherwise.

Unless you conduct a survey over an extended period, this point-to-point comparison does not reveal the living conditions of a particular town.

“So I have a problem with that and have said it over and over again,” he said.

However, he stressed that the reports in no way undermine the NDC’s efforts as there is always time for the political environment to change before the December 7 elections.

Below is the final report on the delivery of the 2016 Manifesto of the PNP Government.
