James Collins’ goal was the first in the league since September 12, also in South Yorkshire, against Barnsley.
James Collins scored his fifth goal of the season when Luton Town beat Rotherham United in the Championship.
Collins volleyed off a magnificent free kick from Luke Berry to break the deadlock with 20 minutes to go.
Luton had dominated the proceedings, with Collins unable to send a George Moncur cross into the net in the 56th minute and United defender Michael Ihiekwe clearing a Harry Cornick shot off the line moments later.
And despite the late pressure from Rotherham, Collins’ goal in the 70th minute was enough for the Hatters to climb to ninth in the Championship table, while Rotherham remained in 19th place.
