Wycombe’s winner came after Birmingham failed to clear the ball inside the box
Wycombe Wanderers claimed a second straight win when Fred Onyedinma headed in injury time and saw them rally late to win at Birmingham City.
The Chairboys had slipped to the foot of the table before kickoff after learning that Sheffield Wednesday’s point deduction had been halved from 12 to six points, but their dramatic fight at St. Andrew’s lifted them off the bottom. .
Wycombe coach Gareth Ainsworth was absent for the second straight game after undergoing back surgery on October 30, and his team fell behind shortly before halftime when Marc Roberts headed into Jeremie Bela’s left corner for the hosts.
But Wanderers created several chances in an entertaining game and were rewarded with 15 minutes to go when Onyedinma’s shot was fortuitously deflected into the net in front of his teammate Kashket, and the winger achieved a last-gasp win.
