The Central Regional Police Command is committed to going the extra mile to serve humanity and the nation even at the risk of their lives.
He would uphold his principles of protecting lives and property and answer the call for service in difficult times.
The regional police commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Habiba Twumasi-Sarpong reaffirmed the commitment at the annual celebration of Police Day at the regional headquarters in Cape Coast on Monday.
The solemn celebration observed with a wreath on the esplanade of the Regional Police Headquarters, was in memory of the Fallen Police Officers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
The Region had lost four police officers in the line of duty from 2016 to 2019.
DCOP Twumasi-Sarpong, placed a wreath on behalf of Inspector General of Police (IGP), James Oppong Boanuh, DCOP Dennis Abbot, second in command, on behalf of the Regional Command, while Comfort Twuimidjor, president of the Regional Association of Wives Police, on behalf of the Association.
DCOP Twumasi – Sarpong said the Police Administration deemed it prudent to recognize the sacrifices of all who paid the ultimate prize for Mother Ghana each year.
“We will visit the families of four of those who fell between 2016 and 2019 with a gift and that would indicate to them that their heroes were part of an Organization that appreciates and honors its heroes,” he added.
The Regional Commander encouraged the Police to stand firm despite the challenges associated with the job; “Criminals must not win, we will navigate successfully,” he said.
