After receiving five million euros for Pedri just 15 months ago, Las Palmas continues to reap the rewards of Barcelona given the number of clauses that were inserted in the transfer, although not as fast as has been the case.

Ronald Koeman has supervised the explosion of Pedri in the Barça team, as the player impresses both at home and abroad, in addition to inflating the coffers of Las Palmas with the first team appearance clause already activated.

So far, Pedri has played eight games for Barcelona and has scored in the Champions League against Ferencvaros. In four of those games he has played more than 45 minutes, and has also played two games with the Spain Under-21 team and in one of those games he exceeded the number of minutes specified in his contract. And once completed, La Palmas will earn an extra 250,000 euros.

Future transfer fee

So far Pedri has been a very cheap purchase for Barcelona but Miguel Ángel Ramírez, the president of Las Palmas, has already indicated that the transfer rate could go up.

“The figure could rise to around 25 million euros in the next few years,” Ramírez said. Additionally, Las Palmas will receive 15 percent of any future transfer fees.

Individual plan

Barcelona know they have a rough diamond in their hands, as Pedri has already demonstrated his technical ability, but he needs to gain more muscle mass.

Thus, the Catalan team has drawn up a specific plan for the youngste. Three afternoons a week – as long as the match schedule allows it – he will do strength and power training, which will also complement the diet he has been following since arriving at Barcelona.
