With Barcelona needing to cut their salary expenses, could Marc-Andre ter Stegen succeed Manuel Neuer at Bayern Munich?

Barcelona are considering selling Ter Stegen to Bayern Munich to help their financial position, according to Todo Transfers.

The report says that the European champions consider Ter Stegen a perfect replacement for the 34-year-old Neuer and could make a move of 80 million euros by the end of the season.

Ter Stegen, who has a contract until 2025, and Neuer have been considered two of the best goalkeepers in the world in recent seasons.

In last season’s Champions League, Neuer had a save percentage of 77.1, ranking only behind Andre Onana (80) and Alex Meret (79) of goalkeepers who played at least five games. Ter Stegen (67.5) was ranked 16th.

Neuer made 28 saves and Ter Stegen 27, who ranked fifth and sixth respectively.
