Ghana’s veteran coach JE Sarpong says Chelsea defender Baba Rahman has been inconsistent at the club level and deserves to be invited for the double game against Sudan ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Rahman has been relegated to Chelsea’s under-23 team and He has only played two games for the team this season. The side defender was not enrolled in the team’s Premier League squad for the 2020/21 campaign.
According to coach Sarpong, invited players must play consistently with their clubs at the highest level.
“My problem with CK By Akonnor The selection has to do with that of Baba Rahman. Has Baba Rahman been consistent with his team? If it is because he plays in the subsidiary and has won a call, then it is a big No, “he said in an interview.
He added that Ghana’s all-time goalscorer Asamoah Gyan should have been invited if CK Akonnor stated that some of the guest players’ experiences were to be underestimated by the young players on the team.

Ghana will host Sudan at Cape Coast Stadium on Thursday, November 12, before traveling to Khartoum to face the Falcons five days later in the reverse game.
