The campaign of the ruling New Patriotic Party (PNP) has been described as uninspiring by the deputy secretary general of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Boamah Otokunor.
According to him, President Akufo-Addo and his team for the 2020 general elections have no message to convince Ghanaians to keep them in power.
Speaking in Ok FMit is Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, the NDC’s deputy chief scribe said his comments are based on the recent Greater Accra campaign tour of the nuclear power plant, where the people of Kpone Katamanso allegedly booed him for commissioning “Coal pot” as a project.
“I can’t believe the president has boldly declared that the Kpone people don’t vote for the PNP and that’s why he hasn’t done anything for them … so there won’t be much development in almost every part of the country. because only two of the 16 regions have voted for the national phase-out plan; therefore, 14 regions do not deserve any development. Is that what you are telling them?
“The PNP has no message in this year’s elections and that is why the people of Kpone booed it when the president went to commission a project… what happened to President Akufo-Addo in Kpone is an indication that he has been rejected. by the people and that’s why he was booed “, he assumed.
The NDC’s Deputy Under Secretary General believes that the Kpone incident is testimony that Ghanaians are really fed up with the Akufo-Addo administration, especially juxtaposing the amount of money the latter’s government has borrowed with virtually nothing to do. show in terms of infrastructure.
“…… in fact they consider the president as a miser; and someone who does not know their office work … For example, only a few people have been following President Akufo-Addo on his campaign tours … unless they have transported people by bus, they have no activists in the election campaign … people are angry and will not come forward to support the PNP campaign. Just take a look at the Greater Accra tour and see the images circulating on various social media platforms and you will know that the campaign is very uninspiring and that NPP members are disappointed. “, he claimed.
